My name is Sam Shearer, and I am a thrill seeker.

I grew up on the outskirts of Jackson, Mississippi, a place afire with charms, struggles, and paradoxes of life in a distinctly Southern way. Seeing and experiencing these things firsthand made me develop a passion for storytelling in all forms. I studied film at SCAD in Savannah, Georgia.

Today I work in video, audio, and graphic design content, with the chief goal of telling stories that thrill the viewer. I am an avid enjoyer of outdoor adrenaline activities (rollercoasters, snow skiing, soccer), and much of my work pertains to this. though I have also worked in music videos, promotional reels, and advertising material. This includes short-form branded content across multiple platforms such as YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok.

My most involved ongoing work at the moment is as a contract editor for PeakRankings, a wintersports publication and YouTube channel focused largely on skiing and snowboarding. Examples of this and of other work can be found in the creative portfolio tab of this site. Whether it’s a rush of adrenaline, a spark of insight, or a swell of emotion, I want to create thrills for seekers like me.
